How to get a NIE number – step by step

The NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) is the identification number for foreigners in Spain. You need it, for example, to buy a holiday home, open a Spanish bank account or receive an inheritance.

Applying yourself often means struggling with a lack of appointments, Spanish-only forms and long waiting times. We take all of that off your hands – you can sit back and relax.

You answer a few questions about yourself online. It takes about 5 minutes – we use your answers to prepare all Spanish forms for you.

You receive a ready-made bilingual power of attorney. You sign it at a notary and have it apostilled – or conveniently online via video call with our partner notarity.

We book the appointment with the Policía Nacional, submit all documents and keep you updated by e-mail.

You receive your official NIE certificate as a PDF with a CSV verification code – and the original by post if you wish. Done!
