Costa del Sol

NIE number for Marbella and the Costa del Sol

  • Kein Termin bei der Polizei in Marbella.
  • Keine Reise nach Spanien für den Antrag.
  • Dieselbe NIE gilt in ganz Spanien, nicht nur in Marbella.

In Marbella the notary asks for a NIE before the escritura is signed. Then come the bank account, a car and the community of owners.

Marbella is in the province of Málaga. Appointments are issued by the Policía Nacional for the province, not by a separate Marbella-only office. You do not queue in Marbella or in Málaga. We file the application with your power of attorney.

Banks on the Costa del Sol open the account against the NIE.

  • A car

Purchase and registration in the province of Málaga use the same number.

  • Utilities

Electricity, water and the comunidad want a Spanish identification number.

How to apply for a NIE for Marbella

You answer a few questions about yourself online. It takes about 5 minutes – we use your answers to prepare all Spanish forms for you.

You receive a ready-made bilingual power of attorney. You sign it at a notary and have it apostilled – or conveniently online via video call with our partner notarity.

We book the appointment with the Policía Nacional, submit all documents and keep you updated by e-mail.

You receive your official NIE certificate as a PDF with a CSV verification code – and the original by post if you wish. Done!
